Following a £95,000 grant award by the Townscape Heritage Initiative, organised by Telford and Wrekin Borough Council, Wellington Market Company’s works to restore the façades of shops in Market Street have been completed and similar works are now in the early stages of work for Walker Street, this phase being due to complete in the new year.
Town and Country Markets, a subsidiary of Wellington Market Company Plc, the UK’s biggest private operator of traditional indoor and outdoor sites, has announced that, in addition to its existing market operations consultancy, market owners, town centre managers and retail developers can now access its full-service marketing team.
Following the announcement, back in July, that TV journalist and campaigner, Esther Rantzen would be standing for the parliamentary seat of Luton South in the next general election, the prospective candidate is officially opening her information and advice centre in Luton’s popular indoor market on the 19th October 2009.
